Most people think a siding job is just about what goes on the outside. But the prep work underneath - the stuff you never see once it's finished - is what actually determines how well your home holds up over time. That's where we put a lot of our focus.

Before any new siding or trim goes on, we strip things back and install Tyvek HomeWrap across the entire exterior. This weather barrier is the first line of defense against moisture getting behind your siding and into your wall assembly. Skip it or cut corners on the install, and you're looking at rot, mold, and air infiltration problems down the road. We don't skip it.

The wrap gets run tight and fastened properly across the full wall surface - around windows, up to the roofline, and right down to the door framing. Every seam and edge matters. Sloppy wrap work defeats the whole purpose, and we've seen plenty of jobs where it was done that way. That's not how we operate.

Once the weather barrier is properly in place, the framing and structural details are protected and ready for the new siding and trim to go on cleanly. The finished exterior will look sharp - but more importantly, it'll be built to last. Good bones make a good exterior, and that starts long before the first piece of siding is nailed up.
