Most kitchens don't fail all at once. They just slowly stop working as well as they should. Outdated plumbing, wiring that can't keep up with modern appliances, counters that have seen better days - it all adds up. That's exactly the kind of full-scope kitchen overhaul we tackled on this one.

The countertops are porcelain with a dramatic white, gold, and charcoal vein pattern running all the way through. Porcelain is a smart pick for a working kitchen - it handles heat, resists staining, and holds up far better than a lot of natural stone options over the long run. The island is massive, with seating along one full side and a black undermount sink built right in. The backsplash carries the same porcelain material, tying the whole cooking wall together.

On the appliance side, the homeowners went with a full Viking suite - built-in refrigerator in slate gray, double wall ovens, and a professional gas range. These aren't just cosmetic upgrades. Viking appliances are built for performance, and integrating them properly means coordinating new electrical and updated plumbing to match. That's work that has to be done right the first time.

The lighting got a full overhaul too. The oversized black dome pendants over the island anchor the space and give it some weight. The branching globe chandelier near the dining area adds contrast - softer and more decorative. Together they make a big open floor plan feel intentional instead of empty. The whole kitchen flows naturally into the living and dining areas, which is exactly what a space like this needs.

This is what a full kitchen renovation actually looks like when every trade - plumbing, electrical, finishes - is coordinated under one roof. Nothing patched together. Clean, functional, and built to hold up for the long haul.
