Some bathrooms just need a fresh start - not a patch job. This one needed everything. Demo, subfloor leveling, new plumbing rough-in for a freestanding tub and faucet, and a full tile installation from wall to wall. That's exactly what we did.
Here's what we were working with before: subfloor exposed down to the joists, existing plumbing rerouted and updated to accommodate a freestanding tub setup. Getting the plumbing right at this stage matters a lot. If the drain location is off even slightly, the whole tub placement is off. We set it correctly the first time so there are no surprises once everything closes back up.
Once the subfloor was leveled and the plumbing was set, we moved into tile installation. The pattern is a classic black and white octagon mosaic - one of those choices that looks simple but demands clean, consistent spacing to pull off well. Every sheet has to line up. The grout joints have to stay uniform. There's no hiding sloppy work in a pattern like this, which is exactly why we take the layout seriously before the first piece ever goes down.
The finished floor runs edge to edge with tight, clean lines and a crisp white baseboard trim to cap it off. Paired with a freestanding tub and faucet, this bathroom went from gutted down to the studs to a space that actually feels finished and intentional. That's the kind of work we do - no shortcuts, no cut corners, just solid craftsmanship from the subfloor up.
When a bathroom needs this level of attention, having one crew handle the plumbing and the tile makes a real difference. No miscommunication between trades, no waiting on a sub to show up before the next phase can start. We handle it all in-house and keep the job moving.
