Custom Cedar Patio Cover Built From the Ground Up

Most backyard spaces sit unused because there's nothing pulling you out there. No shade, no comfort, no real reason to leave the couch. That's exactly the kind of problem a well-built patio cover solves - and this is one of our favorites to show off.

We handled everything on this one. The concrete, the framing, the cedar, the roof, the electrical, the drawings, and the permits. That matters more than people realize. When one contractor manages the whole scope, nothing falls through the cracks. There's no back-and-forth between subs, no timeline gaps, and no finger-pointing when something needs to be sorted out.

The structure itself is built with heavy cedar timber posts and beams, tied together with black steel connector hardware that gives the whole thing a sharp, intentional look. The ceiling is tongue-and-groove cedar planking, which adds warmth and texture you just don't get from a basic patio cover kit. We also wired in lighting - both a pendant fixture and a ceiling fan - so the space works day or night, hot or cool.

What we ended up with is a covered outdoor living area that actually feels like a part of the home. Not an afterthought. Not a bolt-on. Something that was designed, permitted, and built to last.
